During the first marking period all papers that were not handed in or not completed were noted with an F in parent portal. This will change for the second marking period and the remainder of the year. Sixth grade will be using a new "100% Club" incentive program for homework completion. If students have no NHIs (100% of their homework completed), they will be given an award at the end of the marking period. In an effort to make grading as clear to parents as possible, I will be using NHIs in the gradebook from this point forward. The "100% Club" refers to 100% homework complete, not a 100% grade. If there are any questions regarding the 100% Club or the changes in Parent Portal, please feel free to contact me.

The end of the Second Grading Period is January 27th!

Team Independence is available for parent conferences, Wednesday or Thursday, at 1:40 or 2:10.  At the conference you will be meeting with all four team teachers.  If your are unable to come to the school, we are willing to set up a phone conference with at the times listed above.  To schedule a parent conference please contact Mrs. Russell at russelgp@pwcs.edu.

If your student is out of school due to illness or travel they MUST see their teachers when they return to pick up their missed work, schedule makup tests or quizzes, and turn in work due the day they were out. 

If your child is out for 3 days, please contact us via e-mail on the 3rd day and we can put together a folder of their missed notes and assignments that you can pick up in the front office.  If you make such a request, we do expect that the folder will be picked up and the work will be completed.
